Decisions, decisions….Any comments please?

As usual a journey started in my mind.
Half sleeping in a days dream
I sauntered along a dirt path soon
Reaching a forked road I didn’t mean to find.

I gazed in wonder because of the choice
Of paths; not two, but three which confused an already
Confused mind. I stood and stared with my low IQ,
But not too low, for what I saw was cause for rejoice.

In deep contemplation I ran my hand unaware through
My wavy blonde hair; for one path was paved in gold,
Which, of course, would first catch the eye of any fool.
The second road was the road my feet were on and I flew

From it towards the shiny stuff, hesitating when I saw soil
Covered by soft green fallen leaves with a beautiful
Canopy that appeared to be a mile long natural arbor. This
Got the clockworks of my brain working, and after a little oil

(And not cheap) I was utterly confused of the path I should
Choose. Gold I thought would turn me against those I love,
And I have never been rich. I could be rich in nature, but maybe
I would end like Dante, and wasn’t ready for a trip in hell. I would

Make my decision according to the cards that were handed to me
In life. I will remain barefooted on the dirt road and always be happy.

Yeah, nice beanie dude! Oh..the poem? Just a sec…….ok, I guess. It’s a tad full. I like the short humorous stuff, so don’t take it hard, ok.
