indian astrology says…?
Posted by admin on March 3rd, 2010 filed in Gold against Oil
my mum recently asked a priest in india to look at my horoscope and see what lies in my future. he said the next 18 years are going to be hard for me and me and my mum will face lots of health problems which may affect my education. he said i should wear a gold emerald ring every day and on saturdays i must light an oil lamp and say the hanuman chalisa.
im 16 living in london and i am NOT religious. i am against listening to the priest as this is the 21st century and i dont even believe in god but my mum is trying to force me to do it.
do you think what the priest said will come true?
do you think i should listen to him because i think what one man tells me to do is not going to affect my life. i wil die when the time comes and wearing a ring is not going to affect that.
what do you think?
thanks ![]()
You shouldn’t do anything by compulsion or force.
If you have interest in the scientific and rational basis of Vedic Astrology and it’s practical remedies presented in a logical and modern manner – then you should obtain the services of a Vedic Astrologer who is of the same frame of mind.
One such astrologer would be answering you right now.
If you don’t have any such interest you should be honest with your mother and have some integrity to express your thoughts clearly and openly without fear of the outcome.

I personally think that it could come true, in the sense that there is a thing called a ’self-fulfilling prophecy’. This means if you go around the rest of your life wondering about this, worrying about what the man says it could come true…The next 18 years certainly WILL be hard, since he’s put this stress on you! Don’t listen to him. No one can tell the future, and don’t let one man ruin what could be an amazing time of your life. Is your mom in good health now? If so, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. If not, than he wasn’t really telling the future was he? I’m very skeptical of this, I wouldn’t buy into it if I were you!

My advise to you is
If you want to beleive in astrology or even try to understand it …. get a second opinion of the same reading. It’s like getting the opinion from two different doctors. Sometimes depending on a slight mistakes an astrologer does .. they can read your future wrong and give you wrong information. Find someone who will tell you more about it … see if a second astrologer independently would predict the same.
And also if you are doing this .. make sure you have the exact time and place you were born together with your birth date when consulting a vedic astrologer.
Of course … if you don’t want to beleive in it … "don’t". It’s free will and you face life as it comes. I am a scientist and I have seen most predictions according to vedic astrology come true for me. So I am a beleiver … but that doesn’t mean that you or anyone have to. Life has its ups and downs and we have to face them.
My theory behind astrology is …
I want to know what could be predicted by astrology … and if the prediction is not good .. what can I do to change it. "Strong will" could be helpful for example (not that I have it all the time) …
or sometimes after a bad predicted period if a good period is predicted … you get that sense of "things will get better soon" and that leaves you with hope … and to hang on for those few months … so rather than to see no light at the end of a dark tunnel … the astrology predictions gave me a time line when I would see that light at the end of the dark tunnel … These have been my experience … and now that I am almost at the light it feels good
Hope this helps your decision.

do not get too hung up on what was said. Vedic Astrology (Jotish) is based on probabilities. Basically saying that these things may come to pass. Remember nothing is carved in stone and you are the one who walks your path. Be open to what was said but live your life as you should. The jewelry is based on planet alignment in contrast with the day you were born on, consider it. Pray to Ganesha, he will clear the path for you.
all the best
