    @veritasfiles I’m …
@veritasfiles I’m also glad that’s there’s good people like yourself which are prepared for it also. I get a good sense of who you are when I go to your profile page. You’re certainly not an ignorant man. :>)

  2. veritasfiles Says:

    Yeah, I think you …
Yeah, I think you and I actually agree then. My concern is this. They are smart folks, but they also do a lot of stupid and incompetent things. The fear I have is that they actually won’t be able to control this monster they’ve created, and it’ll slip from their grasp. In that circumstance, we’d be in a very very chaotic situation for at least 6 months, if not longer. I hope that doesn’t happen, but I’m always glad to know that there are good people like yourself who are prepared for it.

  3. WhyMeWhySilver Says:

Oh I agree with you …
Oh I agree with you if there’s an event that would cause rioting and mass chaos. And you may be the one whom is right. But….I don’t see the Government (the orchestrator IMO) as wanting anything but a slow entry into an economic collapse. I just don’t see them wanting to deal with massive chaos. These people are SO smart and whether we want to admit it or not…are a lot smarter and are always one step ahead of ME…..hopefully not you :>)

    @whiskerchild So …
@whiskerchild So I’m trying to place you in a scenario of a possible loss. In order to prevent that we can take the simplest actions for protection by flipping our larger weights to smaller weights. As long as you or I are holders of PM’s we can flip it over to any other form of metals that we choose.
Because I’ve been a holder and buyer of PM’s for approximately 9 years, I now see silver as silver. Whether it be a .999 coin, .999 bar, or 90% coinage. This why it doesn’t bother me to flip it.

  5. WhyMeWhySilver Says:

    I said clearly in …
I said clearly in the video…..In my opinion no. Do I have a crystal ball? No. I have to use HORSE SENSE here. Again, why would the recipient of your gold or silver give you back change due in metals if he has the greater potential to profit off of it in the coming days? My goal is to help you recognize POSSIBILITIES of losing your metal holdings to fiat currency as a change due back to you. I have flipped all of my weights above 1oz bullion and nothing larger than 1/2 oz in gold coins or bars.

    What the heck are …
What the heck are you saying then? Am I going to get my money back in Silver/gold or not? So how do I buy stuff, if all I’ve got is 1 z silver and gold? Trade it all in now, for 1/2 z? 1/4?

Correction: the Zimbabwe dollar is dead. It was officially declared dead recently and a new issue was authorized.

    Great video! One …
Great video! One thing that we disagree on is that we’d see something more peaceful in a collapse. If it was a slow collapse, then I think you’re closer to be right. However, if it’s fairly rapid or sudden, then I think the first thing we’ll see is massive or widespread violence. In addition, there is a lot of evidence to suggest that this could end up being a global financial collapse as the Euro is also in danger of simply imploding as a result of sovereign debt defaults. Great vid though!

It only took 3 days …
It only took 3 days for the water soaked veneer of society to fall away after Katrina. In the era of the Depression, people were taught certain values that would seem foreign to a lot of people today.

I buy silver to protect my meager wealth from inflation, and I buy lead to protect my family from evil. I would hope and pray that you are correct about people, but unfortunately, I have my doubts. Excellent video!

    Hi BR……LOL I …
Hi BR……LOL I stopped by State Farm today to submit a towing charge and before I left his office he was on the phone and bought 20oz .999 silver rounds. He’d never bought an oz of silver in his life. UT OH…..another addict is amongst us people!

  12. WhyMeWhySilver Says:

    Don’t you know of …
Don’t you know of the silliest things done these days by corporations just to get a tax break? Burger King just tore down their building 2 months ago and built another one on the same site lol….the new ones even about 200sqft smaller. I just don’t get it. Waste Waste Waste..

  13. WhyMeWhySilver Says:

    You’re right about …
You’re right about what Michael Maloney said about 90% coinage. But yet, you have to take into consideration that he pushes the Government Rounds on his bullion site :>) I traded a10oz silver bar the other day for Veterinarian services. :>) He never asked me for an ASE nor did had he ever heard of one. But YET I think Mike writes good books :>) A calculator works wonders and it’s got to the point where I don’t need one to calculate silver content on any of the 90% coinage. Mike’s trying hard huh

  14. geniusmarketing08 Says:

also, you can get 1 …
also, you can get 1 gram silver bars through cmc mint which might be a great idea. Mike Maloney doesnt put a lot of faith in dimes etc. due to the confusion over silver content etc. when buying petrol for example, however he says the petrol station attendant will have heard the value of that one ounce silver piece on the radio that you have and be able to exchange that for petrol..so how do you get change for 1oz silver when it’s worth more than a tank of gas??…hourly devaluing fiat currency?

  15. lucky43113 Says:

    I totally agree …
I totally agree thats why I stress to everyone to buy dimes because there is a lot less chance that you will get back that worthless fiat currency or half to spend it all in one place if you have dimes there easy to carry if you do have to leave in a hurry plus you can put them in your pocket and no one will know that you have them so theres less chance of getting robbed small gold coins are nice to have as well for larger purchases i personally like the 2 or 2 1/2 gold pesos.

For years they called WWI “The Great War” and they said never again to war…..then we had WWII…..The Great Depression will never be the only one ;) Thanx Mike for showing us these images…I feel thses scenes will be repeated :( unfortunately…but this time we can prepare due to our communication technology (Internet) :)

    Excellent …
    Excellent presentation… I love those old pictures–worth a thousand words…

My parents spent their childhood in the Depression. I remember the stories of a harsh life. They were very frugal and wasted nothing.

Nowadays, everything is disposable. They even tear down perfectly good buildings instead of reusing them. We’re like the brainwashed people in “Brave New World” who believe “Ending is better than mending”.

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for revisiting this topic. It is more important now to ‘do’ rather than ‘think’ about doing. Just a question, was it true that one ounce of Silver could buy shopping for a family of 4 for a week around the last depression or before 1900?
