The Refocus

Posted by admin on March 10th, 2010 filed in Gold against Oil

I move us to solutions along the critical path. In some respects we are using the wrong accounting system when we talk about both wealth and money. We are not generating human survival capacity instead we are drawing down oil, and other finite resources. In the Fuller model we count the value of things against the critical path use of those items in terms of potential life support. We have a system now in place that wrongly prices oil, we are not organized to recognize that finite resources have infinite value. A talk about full cycle cost using GE and hudson river pollution as an example.

User pays – is the quntessence law of nature. Try to explain that to the Wall Street banksters, and corporate giants like Monsanto, Shell, Warmart…..

Right you are – but again you and me are among the very few wolves left in the wilderness.

great vid, you really explained the misuse of money and the flawed system we have to distribute wealth and resourses amongst society

    We have wonderful …
We have wonderful non food crops that could help us along this path, Bamboo & Hemp. These two crops alone can provide much of our needs if used efficiently. Both of them are frowned upon in our society. I live in an exurban area and grow bamboo, I have horses for manure and they love to eat bamboo too, I may be far from the city but I find little reason to leave so I don’t use much fuel. However what I do is not respected in a FinCap world, so I wait for the world.

    we have the …
we have the technology and resources; we do not have the insight or will…yet.
capitalism is financial feudalism. we get to choose whose fields to labour in. we get paid to consume and increase their wealth.
Fuller is right, people are our primary resource, especially children whose young minds are not formed and can think way outside the boxes.
    Must read the book.
I really appreciate your presentations Warren. first class in every respect. you get my vote for world president :)

    I fully agree that …
I fully agree that we in the USA pay a tremendous low cost for oil. This will change within this decade. If China isn’t now, it will soon be importing more oil than the USA. The USD will lose reserve currency status within the decade. Consequently, we in the US will pay a lot more for oil soon enough.

    It’s not just a …
It’s not just a monetary system that is flawed, it’s the entire mindset that tells us our prosperity depends on producing more and more year over year & when GDP doesn’t grow, we are presumably in trouble. Fuller’s idea is somewhat opposite – do more with less. In that mindset, the GDP itself as an economic indicator becomes largely irrelevant, it’s not how much we produce/consume, but how much we saved that matters. Fuller was a great visionary. Thanks for the presentation (all of them).

    Thanks Warren!
I have been reading up on permaculture design, and one of key concepts is that a properly designed ecosystem should yield virtually no waste. Applying this to our societal ecosystem, it is easy to see how poorly allocated resources are. We are throwing tons of paper/oil products into our landfills which should be converted to fuels and electricity. This technology is now being developed (and I may soon be employed in its development) but this should have been implemented long ago.

… After all, the so-called “wealth” we have has been built with the sweat from us, the workers. The “suits” elbow their way up and and convince us they are neccessary !
The are not, at least those we have today !

A German Newspaper did an article many years ago entitled “Idiots in Pinstripes” ( Nieten in Nadelstreifen ).
    Very fitting !

PS : Well said again !

    Well said.

If I may generalize for a moment ( I detest generalizations, but detest “suits” even more ) …

In my experience, those that wear suits are normally not “workers” but “manipulators” .. and has become clearer in most recent years.

Get rid of the “suits” and get “workers” to plan and run things. i.e. engineers and other technical people etc. etc.

    This is your best …
This is your best video yet and one that makes sense. Not to mention a practical one. This is the first time I am rating your videos and you get 5 stars. Hope you see how much better this is compared to your usual AMERICAN moaning and groaning. Until 10% of Americans understand that we need a change in thinking and real action and not just bitching, we will wallow in the same place. Thank god Mother Earth has a way of letting us know ( get off my back) Watch for it real soon!!!

    I am getting so …
I am getting so tired of just waiting around for the opportunity to come where some of these solutions can be implemented.

Im tired of the fraud in the markets & everything being held in place by the Gov as its all clearly broken.

    This limbo stage is torture.

How much longer is this going to go on for? Precious time is being wastted.–we could all be working towards rebuilding a new system & not waiting for the powers that be to allow us to be done with the current one. Enough already
